India has complicated elections, with the Lok Sabha elections being the most complicated. Numerous factors come into play, including the candidate’s qualifications and issues at the national, state, and local levels. If BJP fought the UPA’s anti-corruption and anti-hindu policies, 2019’s campaign was a showcase for performance, and 2024’s campaign was all about Modi. BJP and NDA entered this election in Modi’s name rather than their manifestos. NDA candidates hoped the magic of Modi would work. The causes behind this failure will assist them in avoiding a worse outcome in the upcoming state elections and general elections in 2029. Among them are a few of them:
Corruption
- In an effort to eradicate corruption and imprison the corrupt, voters resoundingly supported the BJP and Modi in 2014. Instead, Modi and his group make sure that all the crimes are covered up by these dishonest netas joining the BJP or making other deals in exchange for favours in situations when they did not join.
- Out of the 420 BJP candidates that stood this year, 115 were turncoats from other. Of that 65% lost compared to 35% in the case of BJP party candidates.
- Voters are fed up with splitting party and horse trading in order to seize power. Maharashtra’s massive loss serves as a sign of this.
Appeasement
- Considering what Modi said as chief minister, Hindu voters had high hopes that the NDA will abolish the Ministry of Minorities. Modi increased the funding rather than eliminating it. Despite the ruling of the Supreme Court, there has been no attempt made to give Hindus their rights, even in states or union territories (Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Lakshadweep) where they constitute a minority.
- Leaders of the BJP and Modi have openly flaunted unparalleled appeasement with over 300 schemes, the majority of which benefit Muslims. Another point of concern was the unequal distribution of benefits to Muslims on programmes intended for the impoverished as a whole (30% beneficiaries in 14% population).
- Many voters assumed that Modi as PM will implement what Modi as CM advocated against this muslim appeasement. These also include other claims like renaming Ahmedabad to Karnavati.
- When SC asked to disband Haj subsidy, Modi transferred the same to education of Muslim girls. There are indirect subsidy for Haj travel still in place.
Law & Order
- Numerous cases demonstrate a lack of spine and an incapacity to uphold law and order. Among the instances are the farmers’ protest, the Shaheen bag protest, the Delhi riots, and the Meitis genocide in Manipur.
- Article 370 abrogation was a preliminary step, but the real goal was to bring back the Hindu displaced in Kashmir and crush the terrorists and their support network in the valley. Rather, the laws were created to continue appeasing them, and purportedly sell the economic rights to sheikhs.
Constitutional discrimination
- Nothing materialised despite the promise made in Article 26 amendment to grant denomination privileges (sampradaya) in order to prevent court intrusion in Hindu religion following the Sabarimala verdict.
- After elections, nothing happened in states like Karnataka, where it was promised that temples would be emancipated; worse, non-Hindus were recruited to positions of authority.
- The commercialization and touristification of places of worship. Kashi saw hundreds of temples completely destroyed to make room for the corridor, but little was done to improve the unsightly dome built on a temple that had been desecrated. There, Modi narrowly prevailed, as the BJP lost a number of seats. There could have been significant losses in the constituency and the surrounding area as a result of the Ayodhya temple’s hurried construction and lack of compensation for the locals.
- Due to the SCST Act’s weaponization, many OBCs and General Castes were being imprisoned on spurious charges. Similar to how Congress overturned the Shahbano ruling, Modi rejected the SC ruling in the SCST Act and lost an opportunity to bring the law into line with national jurisprudence.
- The saffron party’s turn blue was a sign that violence against brahmins and other castes was on the rise.
- There has been no attempt to repeal the infamous Waqf act, which allows Waqf to seize property from even pre-Islamic era temples with impunity.
- There has been no attempt to repeal the Places of Worship Act, which was designed to stop the return of temples that were taken over by Islamic invaders and many of them are plainly visible.
- There has been no attempt to modify the Right to Education Act, which prohibits Hindus from operating their schools independently of the additional 25% in subsidies, which the state hardly ever reimburses.
- There has been no attempt to change the discrimination against Hindus under Articles 25–30 of the Constitution, which grants minorities greater rights than Hindus.
Reclaiming civilisation
- No attempt is made to repair the distortions that Marxist historians and the Eurocentric/Secular viewpoint have contributed to the curriculum in our school and university textbooks.
- Giving flats to Rohingyas, allowing them to form ghettos instead of deporting them and illegal Bangladeshis. On the other hand persecuted Hindu refugees from Pakistan forced to return back.
Destruction of Economy
- An inept Modi and Nirmala Sitaraman completely screwed the middle class by imposing excessive taxes and inflation under the ostensibly streamlined GST regime.
- The supposedly best performing minister is Gadkari dues to his road construction. People also see this roads washed away and tunnels leaks in rain. excessive toll tax on roads despite having extremely high GST, surcharge, 15 years advance road tax and other measures to loot the vehicle buyers so much so that more than 50% of the cost of the vehicle is tax.
- Only 2% of income tax payers and all wealthy individuals are free from taxes when they declare their income as farm income.
- Whenever economy is in downslide Modi comes up with long term vision to prosperity, and timelines goes further when the initial ones fail – 5 trillion by 2025, developed country to 2047 (Amrit Kaal) and a 1000 year vision during campaign.
- Kept the fuel price inflated despite low global crude oil prices and squandered 20 lakhs crores in inflated fuel prices on revdis and schemes that did not benefit all.
Fawning to the West and Middle East
- Notoriety foreigners such as Bill Gates and several other foreign-funded NGOs have an excessive amount of influence in the government and judiciary.
- Utter contempt in taking care of Indian interests when collide with foreign interest like in case of Nupur Sharma and other incidents.
Disconnect with Voters
- In Kerala, the lone MP prevailed because he had resided and was active in the constituency for the previous five years, whilst the other nineteen candidates had entered the race just two months prior to the poll.
- The media interactions with the current ministers and members of parliament revealed their haughtiness. Among them are Smriti Irani, who lost awfully, and Nirmala Sitaraman, who would never have dared to contest anticipating her fate.
- An excessive number of ministers nominated by the Rays Sabha who lack any connection to the electorate indicate that they are indifferent to the concerns of regular voters.
…and many more
