Our next solar boat is on its way to the picturesque forests of Madhya Pradesh. This is the second solar boat designed to ferry tourists eager to enjoy wildlife watching. Solar boats are ideal for operating in eco-sensitive areas. They are extremely quiet, ensuring minimal disturbance to wild animals and birds. Additionally, the lack of vibrations and fuel odors enhances the passenger experience.
This is the second boat from the Destiny series (bit.ly/boat-destiny). It is one of the most affordable options in our extensive range of solar boats, accommodating from 6 to 150 passengers. This version of Destiny is a 7-meter-long GRP catamaran with a capacity for twelve passengers. It is powered by twin electric outboard motors, each with 8 kW of power. Thanks to its high-efficiency hull design, the boat can easily reach speeds of 8 knots. It features a twin battery pack with @navalts #Ray LFP batteries, offering a total capacity of 30 kWh. The boat is also equipped with a 3 kW solar panel, providing a range of 50 km on sunny days and 35 km on cloudy days between charges. For higher speeds of 12 knots and extended range, the boat also includes a third outboard motor powered by petrol. Like all our #solarboats, this one is equipped with #Orca electric steering.
This marks a significant milestone for Navalt as it is our 25th solar boat set to begin operation next month. It took us three years to build our first solar ferry and seven years to produce the next twenty-four. The adoption rate of solar electric boats has increased so rapidly that we expect to deliver the next 25 boats within the coming year.
