Navalt Solar boat in Seventh State – West Bengal

Exciting news! Navalt #solarboats are now operating in six states (#Kerala, #Punjab, #Karnataka, #Maharashtra, #UttarPradesh, #MadhyaPradesh), and we’re thrilled to announce our expansion into the seventh state: #WestBengal.

Our latest addition, the fourth boat in the Destiny series (bit.ly/boat-destiny), will soon be navigating the stunning waters of the Sunderbans. Commissioned by CSIR-CMERI (https://www.cmeri.res.in), a central government body, this solar boat aims to improve transportation for the tribal communities living on the islands.

This Destiny model is a 10-meter-long GRP catamaran that can accommodate sixteen passengers. It’s powered by twin electric outboard motors, with a combined power of 16 kW. Thanks to its high-efficiency hull design, the boat can smoothly reach speeds of 8 knots. It also features a twin battery pack with Navalt‘s #Ray LFP batteries, totalling 32 kWh. With a 3 kW solar plant, the boat offers a range of 50 km on sunny days and 35 km on cloudy days between charges. As with all our #solarboats, this one is equipped with #Orca electric steering.
