It was a fantastic gathering at the Kerala IITM annual chapter meeting held at the Holiday Inn Kochi last Sunday. Over 60 alumni and their families attended the event, making it a memorable occasion.
The event kicked off with a welcome address by me, the chapter chair. During my address, I announced that the next foundation day celebration will be held on July 31 at 4 PM on the Indra solar cruise boat, the largest solar boat in the country.
Following the welcome address, Shyamala Rajaram, Nishani Manohar, and Ashwin Mahalingam gave insightful talks about alumni activities and the institute’s engagement with the wider world. Prof. Mathews delivered a captivating speech comparing campus life across the sixty years he has been associated with IITM.
The chief guest, Anto Varkey, the senior-most alumni, inspired everyone with his thought-provoking ideas. Certificate of appreciation was handed over to Ben Shalom and MGM College of Engineering for their effort in giving back to society. Before lunch, attendees enjoyed a lively quiz program, adding to the fun and excitement of the day.
It was a wonderful opportunity to meet and connect with IITM alumni from across Kerala. We eagerly look forward to the next event on July 31.
