The Kochi chapter decided to celebrate IIT Madras foundation day on INDRA cruise. This was probably the only chapter in the world who celebrated on a solar cruise, that too on the largest solar boat in India. The dedicated cruise started from SWTD boat jetty, Eranakulam at 4 PM. As soon as the boat set sail using its silent electric motors powered by lithium batteries and solar power on board, all of us choose to go up in the second deck to enjoy the view outside.
As per the tradition, a quiz was conducted on board with topic covering history of IIT Madras as well as on sustainability. The winners received chocolates. There was also a special prize awarded to the person who remembered the battery capacity of the boat.
