This #solarelectricboat is from the popular #Destiny series and is the fifth boat in this series. It is a 10 m (30 ft) long boat with 20-passenger capacity. The boat is powered by 6 kW outboard motors and have two sources of energy: 3 kW solar panels on top and grid energy stored in twin Ray LFP batteries with a 25 kWh capacity. Unlike other boat in the Destiny series, this boat is partially covered with sliding glass, making it more suitable for operations on the beautiful #Chilika lake. It is ideal for enjoying a peaceful ride along the lake and for bird watching. We hope that this first solar boat in Orissa, operating in Chilika lake, will demonstrate the benefit of such boats: silent, eco-friendly, no fuel smell and almost zero energy cost.
