A new Solar Ferry Launch is Coming Up!

We are excited to announce the launch of our latest solar ferry (LRAJ GREEN as owner), a truly special milestone for several reasons:

  • It is our first solar boat in the state of Goa, making Goa the 9th state to adopt this green technology.
  • It marks the first time our Greenship system is being offered to another shipyard.
  • It is the first solar ferry in Goa that is fully operational.

After successful operations in Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh, we are proud to bring this innovation to Goa. Additionally, we have two new states lined up for 2025, continuing our expansion.

Another significant milestone is the launch of our Greenship system for other shipyards. Until now our electric propulsion systems were exclusively installed on boats built by our own team. This new project in Goa is the first where we are collaborating with a local shipyard, through the owners of the ferry (LRAJ GREEN) to build green vessels using our technology.

We believe that such partnerships will accelerate the adoption of solar boats across the industry. Our journey began in 2009 with our first experiment, and since 2013, we have been dedicated to refining this technology. Not many shipyards have the patience or resources to follow this path, so by focussing on building boats, they can rely on us to provide the Greenship system. Together, we can create many more solar electric boats and drive the green revolution forward.

Developing a reliable and robust solar ferry is no easy feat, and this is where years of experience and expertise truly matter. I have documented these challenges and insights in a detailed blog post here. In that article I also referenced a project in Goa. While this is technically the second solar ferry in the state, this new boat will be first solar ferry to operate successfully in Goa. We are fortunate that the owners, LRAJ GREEN, considered this importance while selecting the system supplier, and selected us in this prestigious project.

The sea trials of the boat have been completed, and we are eagerly preparing for the official inauguration. More details and pictures about the boat and is operation will be shared soon.
