Delivering LIMO — Our 43rd Solar Boat — to Mr. Joy Alukkas

Some deliveries feel different.

When we handed over LIMO to Mr. Joy Alukkas, Chairman of the Joyalukkas Group, it wasn’t just another boat leaving our yard. It was our 43rd solar-electric vessel — and it was going to one of Kerala’s most iconic destinations: Isle of Joy.

What is LIMO?

LIMO is a 15-passenger premium solar-electric cruise vessel — built for silence, elegance, and zero emissions.

She runs on twin 10kW MAKO S1 electric propulsion pods, powered by three 20kWh RAY marine-grade LFP battery packs, with a 3kW rooftop solar array feeding back into the system. The ORCA electric steering system gives her smooth, responsive handling on the water.

But numbers only tell part of the story.

Step aboard LIMO and what you notice first is the quiet. No engine rumble. No diesel smell. Just the sound of water and the gentle hum of a boat that belongs on a backwater like this — couch-style seating, panoramic windows, ambient lighting, air conditioning, and a washroom. Luxury without compromise. Clean without apology.

43 and Counting

When Navalt built Aditya — India’s first solar ferry — the question people asked was: will this work?

Today, the question has changed entirely.

Forty-three boats later, the conversation is not about whether solar-electric vessels work. It is about what kind of experience they can create. LIMO is our answer for the luxury hospitality segment — a vessel that does not ask guests to trade comfort for conscience.

A Perfect Fit

Isle of Joy is a private island destination built around premium experiences — family getaways, private events, curated waterfront moments. LIMO arriving there feels like the right vessel finding the right home.

For guests, the journey to the island is now part of the experience itself. Silent. Scenic. Unhurried.

That is exactly what electric boats do best.

Thank You

Grateful to Mr. Joy Alukkas for trusting us with this build, and to the entire Navalt team — engineers, designers, technicians — who put their best into every detail of LIMO.

Forty-three down. Many more to go.
